Automatic Cigarette Battery
Major brands such as Green Smoke, Smoke 51, E Smoke, and Blu Cig use an automatic lithium ion cigarette battery. Blu Cig also has a mobile cigarette battery charger pack.
Lithium ion batteries will not last longer than 2 or 3 years whether they are used for electronic smoking or set idle. A topping charge should be applied every 20 days when they are not used frequently. The topping charge will kick in at 4.05 V and shut off at 4.20 V. They are protected by an overcharge circuit. The cigarette battery charger LED light will not come on if a charge is not needed.
It is harmful to over-discharge the battery. The safety circuit is designed to cut off the electrical device below 2.50 V to prevent the cell from overheating from too high amperage. It is rendered unserviceable and a recharge is not possible. It will not operate when it reaches 2.7 to 3.0 V. It is shipped new from the factory at 40 percent charge to allow some discharge during storage before it is sold to a customer.
Cigarette Battery Problems
The mini electronic cigarette for electronic smoking from major brands such as Green Smoke, Smoke 51, E Smoke, and Blu Cig have an e cig battery designed to last for 300 charge and discharge cycles. For various reasons they may not operate properly.
The cigarette battery charger charges up the cigarette battery properly. The LED lights up but no vapor is produced. Make sure the atomizer is working. Remove the cap on the mouthpiece end and check to see if the batting material is soaked with eliquid. Check if liquid is getting into the the battery.
The LED tip lights up but starts flashing when taking a long draw. Automatic batteries shut off after a few seconds to prevent the atomizer from overheating and burning the batting material. Take shorter draws. This could also indicate a weak e cig battery that needs to be charged. If you prefer long draws consider getting a manual battery
The LED tip flashes rapidly but no vapor is produced when I take a draw. It needs to be recharged.
The e cig battery does not light up or do anything when I take a puff. Make sure the cartomizer is screwed tightly on the mini electronic cigarette. The e cig battery is dead and needs to be replaced.
Battery Care Tips
Lithium ion batteries for smokeless cigarettes are shipped at 40% charge from the major brands such as the Green Smoke, Smoke 51 and E Smoke. Fully charged batteries would corrode the lithium plating reducing the lifespan. The 40% charge allows for some discharge during storage before the battery is sold. This means you should charge a new battery you just acquired from the retailer before using it for electronic smoking.
The batteries should not be stored contacting metallic objects. Also they should not be stored next to magnetized objects of electronic transmitting devices.
